Hey
I was only 7 years old when I punched an 8year-old boy and he lost his 2 front teeth.
I distinctly remember why I did it. He was teasing me about how he was stronger & smarter than me.
And at 7, I thought it was the best way to shut him up & it worked.
But it also got me into big trouble at home that I swore I would never ever punch another person again unless of course, it was in self-defence. Even the law says   that’s okay…I think. Maybe I need to Google that one again.
Anyway, years have passed since and if someone was grading my behaviour, I am sure I would pass with flying colours.
However a few days ago, I had the same urge:
I was watching TV and I wished I could put my fist through the TV screen so I could  punch his smug face.
No, it was not my blast from the past, but a 70-year-old grown man behaving like an 8-year-old.
You’re right; I’m talking about Trump and the Presidential debate.
Anyway, I’m not here to talk about my urge to punch Trump but to talk about something else.
The presidential debate made me realise something that is relevant to all our lives.
That sometimes, we may all have to deal with a TRUMP in our lives.
   Someone who:
  • Pushes our buttons
  • Makes us want to pull our hair out
  • Drives us insane at times or in some cases, most of the time
  • Can be intimidating, condescending & the one who talks over us all the time.
  • An immature obnoxious bully (and luckily in our case maybe with very little power other than the power we choose to give them)
But that was not the only realisation I had.
The other Presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, taught me something important – she taught me…
The BEST way to deal with the Trumps in your life?
      Answer:
      BE Hillary
  • Calm & Composed
  • SMILE when you’re being pushed even if it looks forced
  • Choose to remain silent instead of reacting
  • Show dignity & courage under pressure
  • Not let the haters get to you and even if they do, don’t let them see it.
  • Keep smiling but stay determined
  • Keep taking purposeful action
The US Presidential elections are in less than a month, for all my American readers/friends/clients/family.
I wanted to leave you with these 2 quotes from the great Abraham Lincoln himself that may help you choose the right leader for your country.

And, though this may not be the most inspiring election, it may turn out to be one of the most important elections in the history of American Politics.
I will be praying that America chooses the right leader in these elections.
I may want to rephrase that,
I will be praying that America chooses a President who is fit to lead this amazing country.
Maybe like John F Kennedy once said:
And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.
Maybe what you could do for your country is:
PRAY
Make sure you VOTE
Vote for the RIGHT / Responsible / Safe leader for your country
GOD bless America & GOD bless us all.
As always it’s a pleasure writing to you and I’m super grateful that you make the time for me.
